Watchalunga field day and Annual General Meeting
Saturday 24th October 2020
Meet at Finniss Uniting Church Hall at 9am for registration
Located behind the Finniss General Store, 3 Main Road, Finniss

Join the Finniss Catchment Group for a rare opportunity to access the Nature Foundation’s Watchalunga Nature Reserve for a guided walk by Amy Ide (Nature Foundation) and Diego Guevara (PhD student).

This will be followed by a talk on Emu-wrens back at the hall, morning tea and the Finniss Catchment Group’s Annual General Meeting.

BYO binoculars, appropriate footwear and long pants.  Walk will be approximately 2km on flat ground. 

This will be a Covid-19 safe event

Citizen Science talk and Annual General Meeting

This will be followed by the Finniss Catchment Group’s Annual General Meeting and light refreshments.

 Revegetation for crop pollination talk and Annual General Meeting

Join the Finniss Catchment Group for an informative presentation by Dr Katja Hogendoorn (University of Adelaide)

 on how to revegetate to encourage crop pollinators, including the role of native bees.

This will be followed by the Finniss Catchment Group’s Annual General Meeting.

 Frogwatch SA workshop and field trip

Join Frogwatch SA presenter, Regina Durbridge, for a fun-filled evening exploring the world of frogs. 

Hosted by the Finniss Catchment Group and the Goolwa to Wellington LAP, 
this is a great opportunity for to learn more about frogs and get up close and personal with these wonderful amphibians.

Healthy Banks: A Field Day by the Finniss

 Join us for a fun family day. Be ferried in a 4WD to where Kerri Muller will lead us in exploring the banks of the Finniss: native plants, weeds, water and wildlife. Then back for lunch and checking out little critters in the river.

Upper Finniss Field Day: 

fish, flows, future.

Join the Finniss Catchment Group for a fun-filled day along the picturesque Finniss River near Nangkita:

· fish expert, Nick Whiterod, will show us native fish

· walk along the river and learn about monitoring water flow, and

· have a go at identifying macroinvertebrates
